These well-known athletes, who are widely recognized in their respective sports and considered celebrities, can leverage their reputation and public exposure to flourish in the business arena. There are two common paths for athletes to become entrepreneurs: starting their own businesses or forming partnerships to promote products and services using their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Athletes have various options when considering traditional business ventures. They may opt for restaurant franchises or real estate development, while others choose to capitalize on their reputation by launching their own product lines in sports equipment, cosmetics, or fashion. For instance, former NFL player Vernon Davis owns multiple Jamba Juice franchises, demonstrating how athletes can enter the business world successfully.

In recent years, there has been a noticeable trend of athletes entering the realm of venture capital. They form advisory teams to evaluate potential investment opportunities in industries they are passionate about. Alex Rodriguez, a former baseball star, established A-Rod Corp, a well-known investment firm that provides financial backing to businesses. However, athletes must exercise caution when using their brand to build a business.
